The power from the cigarette lighter outlets on a Porsche Macan shutoff after ~15 minutes. Therefore, unless you hardwire you cannot use parking mode on the Blackvue Dash Cams. I wanted a parking mode solution and I liked the idea of a dedicated battery pack instead of potentially draining the car battery. I also didn’t want to hardwire to the fuse box and bury the battery pack inside one of the panels. The Macan has a cigarette lighter power outlet in the rear hatch area that is ideal to connect my B-124X battery pack and my Blackvue DR750X dash cam.
I attached the Battery Pack to the outside of the panel using the included velcro tape strips and located it beside the cigarette lighter outlet. This solved my problem of being able to connect to a power source and still be able to see the operating lights on the B-124X. I then used the included cigarette lighter adapter to connect to the dash cam. The cigarette lighter power wiring harness that came with my Blackvue DR750X was more than long enough to connect both the front and rear cameras to the battery pack.
Setup works perfectly and battery pack hardly restricts the rear interior cargo area. The velcro tape holds the battery pack well but I am still planning to secure it more permanently. Fortunately the panel easily pulls off so I can simply attach velcro straps to make it more secure.
