Thinkware iVOLT BAB-50 Battery Pack

Designed for Thinkware Dash Cams, the BAB-50 is an excellent solution to enhancing the parking mode features of the dash cam and eliminate wear and tear on the vehicle’s battery. When your vehicle is powered off, the BAB-50 will provide power to your dash cam for parking mode recording.

The BAB-50 is compact-sized, making it easy to hide inside the vehicle, especially in smaller vehicles. The BAB-50 takes approximately 45 minutes to fully charge (7A Speed Charge) and can power a dual-channel dash cam system up to 16 hours.

Made up of LiFePo4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) cells, the BAB-50 is designed to withstand extreme temperatures, go through more charge cycles (up to 1,500 charge cycles) and is more environmentally-friendly than traditional Lithium-ion batteries.

Without a battery pack, some vehicles may bring up a ‘Battery Discharge’ warning if you leave your dash cam running in Parking Surveillance Mode for several hours as it is detected as an excessive vehicle battery drain. Fitting a battery pack is the best solution to prevent it from happening.

The complete package!

I recently purchased a thinkware F800 front and rear camera combo for my M4. After researching, I heard that BMWs are sensitive to voltage drops when the camera is in parking mode.

I purchased the battery and searched youtube for a camera install video. Ironically the video I watched was a video blackbox my car made specifically for the BMW M4! Great products provided and great tutorials that helped me get it installed, thanks again Blackboxmycar!!

Velcro Doesn’t Stick

The Thinkware iVOLT BAB-50 battery works fine. Katrina helped me figure out how to hardwire the properly. The only issue I have is with the Velcro. The Velcro doesn’t stick to the carpet under the driver seat in my new 2021 Toyota Sienna. I purchased industrial strength Velcro from elsewhere but that too doesn’t stick. I suggest including Velcro that actually sticks to carpeting in any vehicle, if such Velcro even exist. Other than the Velcro, everything else is good. Katrina responded to my email messages instantly and was able to answer all the questions I had.

A Great Product !!!

I am using the BAB-50 with New Thinkware X1000. I installed the BAB-50 because I was worried about the battery discharging in Parking mode. Even though X1000 has the parking mode energy saving and battery protection, I need to Increase the duration of the Parking Surveillance mode. Now With BAB-50 I can enjoy X1000's Ultra Low Power Parking Mode even longer time without any worries.

I recently purchased a iVOLT BAB-50 BATTERY PACK, and I found it to be a perfect companion to my Thinkware U1000. iVolt Bab-50 battery pack allows me to bypass my 2018 Toyota 4runner's battery, which also means I will always have my 4runner's battery full to start my SUV. Another plus of the iVOLT Bab-50 battery pack is its size, I was surprised on how compact it is, that I was able to install it just under the drivers side fie wall just behind the parking brake. Its do well concealed that you can't even see it.

I recommend iVOLT Bab-50 battery pack to anyone who is looking to hook their Thinkware dashcam and not worry about draining their vehicle battery..

Exactly as advertised

I needed a new battery pack to replace a Cellink B that had failed in my car. Settled on the BAB-50 based on cost and untility (don't need/want the bluetooth features, etc of the Blackvue or Cellink Neo). Works exactly as it should. Almost plug and play installation as a replacement for the B with only having to change the input cable plug.

Great Battery

So far so good. I would recommend on buying this battery if you want a full blown dash cam system.

It is small and convenience. The only issue I had was the velcro that came with the unit didnt not stick to my carpet. I just had to buy carpet tape from Home Depot to stick it underneath my seat. iVolt BAB-50 External Battery

Excellent solution by utilizing this Thinkware iVolt BAB-50 battery to provide the power to my Viofo A119 v3 dashcam, and to give me a piece of mind to not worry about the car battery when I'm in need of my vehicle or monitor my car when I park on the street. I did not regret to invest in purchasing this battery for my dashcam. It was very easy to install the battery to the dashcam using hard-wiring kit.
However, additional purchase of hard-wiring kit is required for proper connection. The battery has been installed in my Mazda CX-5 GT 2018 and I really like it. The parking mode works like a charm,

Finally, I would like to thank BlackBoxMyCar for providing me the technical support when needed. Strongly recommend to have this battery for your dashcam.

Great Unit with a Smaller Footprint

I decided to get this unit because of the ease of installation with hardwiring it (only requires ACC slot and the ground) and also it's smaller in size than the other brand (name escapes me at the moment).

I have limited space in the vehicle and didn't want the unit to be visible. It doesn't last as long as the other units, but this perfect for me since I want it for public parking and this is more than adequate.
