We have created this simple graphic below for customers to understand how our warranty procedure works, and how our services compare to major retailers out there in the market. Customer service is our top priority, so when you have an issue, it's our issue too, so we stand behind the products that we sell.

Our Warranty Coverage

For warranty, we provide a return label only for dead-on-arrival units & if customer contact us within 7 days of the delivery date.

Warranty Policy

All of our dash cams, battery packs, and microSD cards are covered by a 1-year limited warranty, unless otherwise stated. In the case of any malfunctions and defects, we will gladly warranty this device for you. The warranty period starts from the date of delivery to you.

All of our dash cam accessories come with a 6 month limited warranty. This warranty is applicable to manufacturer defects only, and does not include user-generated issues or physical damage.

What's Not Covered

  • Damage caused by accident, abuse, improper installation, water damage, and theft
  • Any costs related to removing or reinstalling the product
  • Any product that has been altered, defaced, or had the serial number removed
  • Any product that was not purchased from BlackboxMyCar

NOTE: Car accessories such as headlights, phone mounts, and air fresheners are considered final sale.

NOTE: We do not provide warranty on G1W dash cams purchased through or anywhere besides BlackboxMyCar.

Out of Warranty Repairs

BlackboxMyCar is 100% authorized to work directly with manufacturers, so we can offer repair services for a specified fee that is more competitive compared to other online vendors.

Please note that repair services is not available for all dash cam brands due to limitations by the manufacturer.

Please note:

We are only able to provide warranty services and/or after-sales support for customers within Canada and the United States who purchased through BlackboxMyCar. We do not manufacture any dash cams sold on Amazon or any devices labelled as "Black Box". It is unfortunate that this Amazon vendor is able to continue using our hard earned reputation to garner sales. We encourage potential customers to purchase from authorized dealers such as ourselves.

BlackboxMyCar is not responsible for any lost packages that are sent to us.

Our Returns & Exchange Policy

We fully stand behind our products and are absolutely confident that they will meet and exceed your highest expectations. However, if you are unhappy with your unit, simply contact us within 30 days of the purchase date and we'll get the return process started for you.

Credit Card

We will issue a refund for the amount paid and to the credit card that was used at time of purchase.


We will issue a refund for the amount paid and to the PayPal account that was used at time of purchase.


We will issue the refund for the CAD equivalent for the amount paid and to the email address that was used at the time of purchase.

Gift Card

We will issue the refund in gift credits back to the gift card that was used at the time of purchase.

Please allow 5-7 days for the refund transaction to be reflected on your account.

Advanced RMA

Advanced RMA is an option for customers who want to exchange/upgrade their dash cam without having to be without a dash cam (shipping time back and forth). Customers simply have to pay a deposit for the additional unit, and we will refund the amount as soon as the unit being exchanged/upgraded is sent to us.

Please note there is a $10 non-refundable service fee for this service.

Missing Pieces:
Unless discussed, we will deduct from the refund accordingly.

Bulk Order Fleet & Wholesale Orders:
They will have a 10% processing fee for any returns or exchanges.

Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMA):
Once your return and exchange request has been approved, we will replace your unit with one that is in similar or better condition.

FAQ: What about other Storefronts?

BlackboxMyCar sells products on various storefronts, including: Amazon, Walmart, Ebay, and Best Buy. Rest assured that as long as it was purchased from us, you'll still have access to our support staff, so feel free to reach out!

New items purchased on other platforms from us also still qualify for our in-house warranty, while most refurbished or otherwise items come with warranty cards for a third-party.

If you'd like to ensure you qualify for our support when making a purchase on a third-party site, be sure that the seller of the item is BlackboxMyCar. Most authentic purchases with BlackboxMyCar will come with a support card for us in the package, with our contact information. Be sure to have your order-number or copy of your receipt available when reaching out, as we'll need it to verify the purchase.

Please note:

  • A return label is not provided (except for DOA RMA warranty claims)
  • Shipping fees from the original order are not refundable
  • Any custom duties and taxes will be deducted from the refund amount
