Which dash cam is the HK5 designed for?
The HK5 is designed for the VIOFO VS1 Mini. Its USB-C plug is shaped for that camera; verify the model before ordering a replacement kit.
Does USB-C mean it works with any VIOFO camera?
No. VIOFO uses several different USB-C hardwire kits. HK5 is not the kit for A139, and its connector does not fit the mini-USB A119 V3 or A129 models.
How long is the HK5 cable?
It is 4m, approximately 13.1ft. Check the complete route around trim rather than the straight-line distance between the camera and fuse box.
Does it support parking mode on the VS1?
Yes, when correctly wired and configured in the VS1 settings. The kit supplies power and detects the accessory circuit; the camera controls the recording mode.
What does the voltage cut-off do?
The kit stops supplying power when the battery reaches the chosen threshold. The 12V settings are 11.8V, 12.0V, 12.2V and 12.4V. Choose a setting appropriate for the vehicle battery and manufacturer guidance.
Will it keep recording all night?
There is no fixed runtime. Battery condition and charge, camera power use, temperature and the selected cut-off affect how long the system can run.
Can I install it in a 24V vehicle?
Yes. The HK5 accepts DC 12–24V and supplies 5V to the camera. Follow the kit markings and instructions for the vehicle voltage.
What else do I need for installation?
You need the VS1 camera, suitable fuse-box connections and installation tools. Fuse taps are separate; choose an Add-a-Fuse kit that fits the vehicle. The camera brand does not determine the fuse size.
