Can I use this with an extension battery?
This cannot be used with the BlackVue Power Magic Ultra Battery Expansion Pack B-124E or the Cellink NEO Extended Battery Pack. There are currently no expansion options available. Note that the 12V cigarette lighter may not be compatible with all vehicles due to insufficient power draw.
In cases like these, we recommend using the hardwiring cable instead. If you would like to use an expansion battery, do consider the PowerCell 8 battery.
Does this work with non-BlackVue dash cams?
Yes. While it is branded BlackVue, the B-130A is a universal battery pack. It provides a standard 12V output that works with almost all major dash cam brands, including Thinkware and VIOFO.
How do I install the B-130A?
You have two options. For the fastest charging (50 mins), we recommend hardwiring the battery to your fuse box using the included kit. For a plug-and-play solution (90 mins charging), you can simply plug it into your vehicle's cigarette lighter socket. Check our Dash Cam Installation Hub for guides.
Can I double the capacity with an extension pack?
No. Unlike the previous B-124X model, the BlackVue B-130A does not support a separate extension battery pack. It is a standalone unit designed to offer high capacity (96 Wh) in a compact form factor.
Is LiFePO4 safe for hot summers?
Absolutely. LiFePO4 technology is specifically chosen for automotive use because of its high thermal stability. It is safe to use in temperatures up to 140°F, making it ideal for hot climates where standard batteries might fail.
How do I check the battery level?
You can download the free BlackVue App (BlackVue Battery) on your iPhone or Android. Connect via Bluetooth to see the current charge percentage, input voltage, and estimated remaining time for your dashcam.
Will this fit under my seat?
The Ultra Battery is compact and designed to fit under the driver or passenger seat in most vehicles. We recommend checking the dimensions and your vehicle's clearance before installation. You can see examples in our Dash Cam Installation Gallery.
Does it include a USB port?
Yes, it features a USB-A port that outputs 5V. You can use this to charge a phone or power a Wi-Fi hotspot device, which is perfect for keeping your BlackVue Cloud features active while parked.
