The BlackVue DR750-2CH LTE (now discontinued) is probably the best way to enjoy BlackVue Cloud at this time - just take it out of the box, insert a SIM card into the built-in card reader, activate the SIM and you’re good to go.
So, let’s get your DR750-2CH LTE set up and connected to the Cloud.
What you will need:
You can download the free BlackVue App from the Google Play Store (for Android smart devices) or Apple App Store (for iOS smart devices).
If you don’t already have a BlackVue account, run the BlackVue app to sign up for your free BlackVue Over-the Cloud account.
If you already have a BlackVue account, simply log in.
To connect to the BlackVue Cloud, you will need an active SIM card. The BlackVue DR750-2CH LTE (now discontinued) is compatible with SIM cards from the following networks:
Make sure you specify you need a 4G/LTE nano-size SIM card. The DR750-LTE does not support 3G nor 5G SIM cards.
As long as the SIM card is from the above networks, there are no restrictions on which plan option you choose. For instance, you can add a SIM card to your existing telecom account or you can set up a new data-only account. You can even use pay-as-you-go or pre-paid SIM cards.
All you need is a data-only plan as you won’t be using the DR750-2CH LTE to make phone calls or send text messages.
Note - The cost of the SIM card and/or the data-plan is paid directly to your network carrier and is not a fee collected by BlackVue
Once you have your SIM card, you will need to register it with the network carrier. You will be asked to provide an IMEI number of the device that will be using the SIM card.
The IMEI number of the BlackVue DR750-2CH LTE (now discontinued) is printed on the bottom of the box.
If your carrier does not accept your DR750-LTE’s IMEI number, you can simply skip that step and register the SIM Card another device’s IMEI - SIM cards activated using a different IMEI will still work in the DR750-LTE.
Using the BlackVue app to register your new DR750-2CH LTE.
1. Remove the front camera unit from the mount.
2. Using the SIM eject tool, open the SIM slot and place the SIM card into the SIM card tray. Note that the DR750-LTE should be held upside down when working with the sim card tray.
3. Gently place the SIM card tray back into the DR750-LTE. Make sure to seat the SIM card tray fully into the dash cam.
NOTE: Do not force the tray back in place. If needed, remove the tray and check that everything is oriented correctly before trying again.
Once the SIM card tray is successfully returned into the DR750-2CH LTE (now discontinued), plug in the power and rear connecting cables to the front camera unit. Your dash cam should power on and you may hear the voice prompt asking you to register your SIM card, and to do that, you need to pair your DR750-LTE with your smart device via WiFi.
If you don’t see your DR750-LTE’s SSID on the list, your dash cam’s WiFi might not be on. Press the WiFi button once to turn it on. It does take 5 to 10 secons for it to show on the network list, so be patient.
Once your smart device is connected to your DR750-2CH LTE (now discontinued), open the BlackVue App.
NOTE: To use the BlackVue Cloud service, your SIM card must be properly activated for Internet access via LTE network.
Once your BlackVue DR750-2CH LTE (now discontinued) has rebooted, you will hear the “Cloud Connected” prompt. You can now go back to the main menu on the app and tap BLACKVUE CLOUD to start using the BlackVue Over-the-Cloud features such as remote Live View and Video playback, Real-time location, push notification, Auto-upload, remote Firmware update etc.
NOTE: Some Cloud features may not work when surrounding temperature is high and/or LTE speed is slow.
TIP: You may want to have your phone “forget” the BlackVue WiFi network so that your phone does not automatically connect to the DR750-LTE whenever you’re within range of the dash cam.
