Design
The VIOFO A329 2-Channel Dash Cam boasts a sleek, compact design that prioritizes functionality and minimal intrusion on the driver’s view. With its small form factor, both the main and rear cameras install easily and remain discreet on the windshield and rear window. The main camera unit features a rotatable lens, allowing users to adjust the camera angle for an optimal recording view, accommodating different windshield shapes and heights. Thoughtful details like cooling vents help regulate internal temperatures, ensuring performance stability when recording in high-resolution 4K at 60FPS, even in warm conditions.
A well-placed button layout on the side of the camera simplifies navigation, granting easy access to recording, Wi-Fi, and power functions, while an optional LCD screen offers live view and playback options on certain models. Cable management is also streamlined, with dedicated ports for power, rear camera, and optional GPS or parking mode cables, keeping the setup organized and user-friendly. Finished in matte black, the A329 remains inconspicuous and resists reflections or fingerprints, blending seamlessly into the vehicle’s interior while delivering advanced recording capabilities.
VIOFO A329 Image Quality and Video Capabilities
The VIOFO A329 series introduces impressive upgrades, starting with its 4K front camera that captures incredibly sharp footage at 60 frames per second (FPS). This higher frame rate offers ultra-smooth playback, which is particularly valuable for capturing fast-moving scenes or sudden events, though it might be a “nice-to-have” feature if you don’t drive on highways often. The camera can also be set to 4K at 30 FPS with HDR enabled, balancing light and dark areas for more detailed visuals, especially in challenging lighting, while saving storage space.
The Sony STARVIS 2 sensor in both the front and rear cameras further enhances low-light performance. While STARVIS 2 isn’t new—found in dash cams like the Thinkware U3000 and BlackVue DR970X Plus—it's a welcome addition, especially with the 8-megapixel IMX678 sensor in the front and 5-megapixel IMX675 sensor in the rear. The rear camera records at 2K @ 30 FPS.
To reduce glare, VIOFO includes a circular polarizing lens (CPL filter) on the front camera, minimizing reflections from the glass and road surfaces for enhanced clarity. This CPL is optional for the rear camera but can be added separately.
VIOFO A329 Parking Modes
The A329 doesn't include the HK4 hardwiring kit in the package. So for those who want to maximize their safety, we recommend picking this up and hardwiring it to unlock advanced parking mode.
Now, this parking mode uses motion detection and impact detection to monitor your vehicle when you're not around, specifically when your car ignition is off. If any movement or impact is detected, this parking mode detection is buffered, meaning the camera will automatically provide you with the footage starting from 15 seconds before the event and continuing for 30 seconds after the event. This provides a complete record of the incident. This feature is especially useful in hit-and-run situations, where having a full picture of what happened is crucial.
VIOFO A329 Safety and Convenience Features
The Ultra-Precise GPS module supports four global navigation satellite systems—GPS, BeiDou, Galileo, and GLONASS—providing detailed location, speed, and time data of the vehicle when playing back video on the VIOFO App or upcoming PC player.
This feature is particularly new, but always useful for reviewing trips, especially for providing evidence in case of an accident or simply tracking driving routes.
VIOFO A329 Connectivity
With higher resolution comes larger file sizes, so the A329 now supports external SSD storage—a first among dash cams. Unlike standard models that max out at 128GB to 512GB SD cards, the A329 can connect to SSDs up to 4TB, providing up to 46 days of footage before overwriting begins. This is ideal for users who need long-term storage or want reliable, extensive video records for infrequent driving or long road trips. SSDs are not only durable and fast but also significantly more reliable than traditional SD cards, making them a valuable option for high-performance dash cams.
Final Verdict
The A329 is a top-tier choice for users who value video clarity, extensive storage, and advanced connectivity options. Its combination of performance and versatility makes it an ideal fit for both daily commuters and road-trip enthusiasts alike, delivering peace of mind with reliable recording and smart features.

The VIOFO A329 brings a solid lineup of advanced features, making it an impressive contender in the dash cam market. With 4K resolution at 60 FPS, Sony STARVIS 2 sensors for enhanced low-light recording, Wi-Fi 6 for faster and stable file transfers, and extensive storage options including up to 4TB SSD support, it’s tailored for users seeking high-quality video and ample storage capacity.
The voice control and smart parking mode add to its convenience and safety, allowing hands-free operation and reliable monitoring when parked. The CPL filter helps minimize glare, producing clearer footage even in bright conditions. While the A329 is packed with premium features, some may find the need to purchase extras, like the HK4 hardwiring kit, to fully unlock its capabilities.
