Thinkware 12V Cigarette Lighter Power Cable

Power a compatible Thinkware dash cam from your vehicle's 12V accessory socket with this 4m cable, approximately 13.1ft long. It is a replacement cigarette-lighter power lead for a plug-in installation when you do not need parking recording.

Connect the cable to a compatible Thinkware dash cam and a suitable 12V vehicle socket for continuous recording only. It does not enable parking mode. Check whether your socket switches off with the ignition: an always-powered socket can drain the vehicle battery, and this setup has no active battery-protection timer or voltage cutoff. Unplug it when parked if the socket stays powered.

For parking recording, use a supported power setup such as the Thinkware Hardwiring Kit, matched to your exact camera. Secure the lead with Thinkware Cable Clips along a route clear of airbags and vehicle controls.

Does this cable enable parking mode?

No. Thinkware specifies continuous mode only for this cable. Leaving the socket powered does not provide access to parking mode features or settings.

Will it work with the Thinkware F790?

No. The F790 is specifically excluded. It uses a different power and mounting arrangement.

How long is the cable?

It is 4m long, approximately 13.1ft. Measure your intended route from the vehicle socket to the camera before ordering.

Will the camera turn off when I stop the engine?

That depends on the vehicle socket. An ignition-switched socket stops supplying power when switched off. A constant-power socket stays on and can drain the vehicle battery. The battery-protection timer and voltage cutoff are not active with this cable, so unplug it when parked if your socket stays powered.

Is this a USB charging lead?

No. It plugs into a vehicle 12V accessory socket and uses a Thinkware camera power connector. Check the connector and model before ordering.

What should I use if I want parking recording?

Use a camera-compatible parking power setup, such as the Thinkware Hardwiring Kit where supported. Follow the instructions for the exact camera and vehicle.

Are cable clips included?

This listing includes the power lead only. Thinkware Cable Clips are available separately to help hold the cable along the installation route.
