VIOFO A229 2K QHD 1-Channel Dash Cam with GPS

I ordered my A229 Pro Duo 4k about 2 weeks ago. I was astonished that the product arrived the very next day. I had it professionally installed by a local shop which also went very well.

Set up was easy although I initially had a little difficulty connecting to my Android phone - the directions could have been more thorough. Going through the menus to set up my preferences was straightforward.

I have downloaded a few clips and viewed on both my phone and my computer. Image quality is very good. License plate recognition was better than I expected during the daylight hours. Night shots were also better than expected although license plate recognition falls off in the dimmer light.

Overall, I am very happy with the product and the service I received from BlackBoxMyCar.

Having similar cameras in the past I do like the updated color screen and the new options. As always Black box my car is there to help with any and all questions or problems I had. They are my go to for all of my dash cam needs. Thanks

I gave 1 stars as the camera is great but the store I'm not sure about. I asked to buy the additional camera but was told I can't buy one as they don't sell them, but was told it won't work as the firmware is only for one camera. So, I contacted Viofo directly. They assured me I can buy an additional 3 cameras and the unit will work flawlessly. This is what I figured but the sales associate should have instructed me that it is possible to add an additional camera and they don't sell them. He told me it's not possible and I will have to return the product at my expense and then purchase the 2 channel setup having never informed me that I could purchase an additional camera directly from Viofo. The additional expenses and costs to me far outway the simple cost of buying an additional camera from Viofo.
This type of business practice is not only unprofessional it is actually illegal as it is a form of collusion. Which is defrauding a customer to buy with you at additional costs and expenses, when the most cost effective advice would have been the TRUTH. So, when I contacted Viofo directly and informed them of what had transpired they were not happy and said they would be contacting "Blackboxmycar" store to discuss this issue as it wasn't legal or appropriate. It's this type of business practices that give stores a bad name and lowers the trust factor. I won't be buying anything else from this store as they could have had a decent customer but failed to be honest! I highly recommend you buy Viofo directly from Viofo or a different business store selling their products.
