Cellink NEO Extended 6,800mAh Battery Pack

Add 87.04Wh of stored energy to a compatible dash cam battery system for longer parking recording. The current 6,800mAh version upgrades the previous 6,600mAh pack and includes a USB output, an On/Off switch and automatic capacity updating with a compatible main battery.

The extension adds capacity to a BlackboxMyCar PowerCell 8 or compatible Cellink NEO main pack. The main unit controls vehicle charging and power to the camera.

Each extension adds 6,800mAh / 87.04Wh of nominal capacity. Extra recording time depends on the camera’s power draw, parking settings and the charge in both packs.

Connect once, then check the app

Use the supplied charge-transfer cable between the extension’s IN/OUT (Auto) connector and the compatible main battery’s expansion port. Its second battery connection lets you link another compatible extension.

With PowerCell 8, the combined capacity should update automatically in the app. Check the total after connecting. App monitoring uses the main battery’s Bluetooth connection. The photo shows one main pack and two extensions; this listing supplies one extension.

USB power and a switch at the pack

The current pack adds a 5V USB output rated up to 2A for a mobile device, plus an On/Off switch. A USB load draws from the same stored energy available for parking recording.

Charge the extension through the compatible main battery and use a dry, ventilated mounting location. Vehicle input and camera output remain on the main unit; see our output cable guide if you are changing cameras.

Can I use this as my only dash cam battery?

No. It requires a compatible main battery for charging and camera power. If you need a complete system first, start with the BlackboxMyCar PowerCell 8 and select the correct camera output cable.

Which version will I receive?

The current 6,800mAh version, rated at 87.04Wh, with a USB output, an On/Off switch and automatic capacity updating with a compatible main battery. Capacity was upgraded from the previous 6,600mAh version.

Does it work with PowerCell 8?

Yes. Connect the extension’s IN/OUT (Auto) connector to the PowerCell 8 EXT. Battery port with the supplied transfer cable. Follow the switch and connection instructions in the manual, then check the app; the PowerCell 8 manual says the capacity should update automatically.

How does the app update the combined capacity?

The current extension supports automatic capacity updating when connected as directed to a compatible main battery. With a 7,500mAh PowerCell 8, one extension gives a nominal total of 14,300mAh; two give 21,100mAh. Check the app after connecting. If the total has not updated, follow the main battery’s app instructions or contact support.

Can I connect more than one extension?

Compatible Cellink systems can link additional extensions through the second IN/OUT connection using the specified transfer cables. Check the main battery’s permitted configuration and the app’s combined total. More stored energy takes more driving time to replenish.

Will it double my parking recording time?

It adds 87.04Wh of nominal capacity. Adding one to a 96Wh PowerCell 8 gives 183.04Wh in total, but runtime still depends on charge levels, camera power draw, parking settings and any USB load. That capacity figure is not a guaranteed recording time.

Can I wire the extension directly to the vehicle or dash cam?

No. Vehicle input and camera output remain on the compatible main battery. The included transfer cable only links the batteries. Your existing camera output harness must still match the camera’s power and parking requirements; see the output cable guide.

How long does the complete system take to charge?

The manufacturer lists a 45-minute reference at 9A for this extension. It does not mean that a depleted main battery plus extension will both recharge in 45 minutes. Total charging time depends on the main battery’s permitted charging current and how depleted the connected packs are.

What can the USB port power?

The USB output supplies 5V at up to 2A for a compatible mobile device. It is not a replacement for the main battery’s camera output harness or parking-mode ignition signal. Using USB also draws from the battery reserve.

With zero instructions in the box

With zero instructions in the box, I had it connected into the wrong port, had to remove 1/2 my interior again to plug it into the other jack. It might be a good idea to put some type of install or plug in instructions inside the box.

It works

It doubled the recording time in park. I came with no instructions. I had to dig around online to find how to interface with the app and how to connect it. I have both batteries in my glove compartment which will be fine in the winter. I'll have to wait to see how summer treats the batteries in there. The app is still broke on Android 14 so I wish they would get that fixed.

A awesome product it does the job of extending the camera on while on Parking mode. The extended battery save your vehicle battery from drainage discharge. I’m able to see my vehicle on live view from the job parking lot with a hotspot Wi-Fi device. An excellent product I highly recommend this cellink Neo battery.

Cellink NEO Extended Battery Pack

Cellink NEO is able to power a BlackSys CH-200 2-CH WiFi Dash Cam for around 20 hours in parking mode. The Extended battery is able to effectively double that time to about 40 hours. Highly recommend it if you want an alternative to using your vehicle's battery for parking recording.

I purchased two of these battery expansion packs, because I leave my car in a parking lot that I can not see from where I live. I have to leave it there for three or four days ay a time. So I was using the NEO pack but it still did not show the car that hit mine because the power cut out after only two days. Now the dashcam will continue for over five days. So for that I am happy for these expansion packs. I guess that the only thing that is a negative is the software App. It is in need of a BIG UPGRADE!!! The App will show what information the NEO has but the information for the expansions does not show, it is like the main unit does not even know that there are expansion batteries connected. This means that you do not know the state the extra batteries. Also it would nice to be able to have some control of the battery from the App. too. I would like to be able to turn the batteries off it I am parked some where that I can see my car. It is lacking any security so any one that is near the car can access the battery data too. All they need is the App. This is a really promising product but it makes the App. function next to useless. For the price of this equipment, one main battery and two expansion packs there should be more thought for the software. After all this is the main reason to buy it.

Excellent product so far with caveat

The Cellink Neo Battery Extension Pack works marvelously as advertised. The only gripe, as of this posting, is the length of connecting cable. Perhaps this is a simple matter of physics and my current ignorance of it, but having a longer connecting cable would have provided more placement options for the battery extension.

this product works with Nextbase IQ Cams? can I set it to my nextbase cam IQ cable entry?

This is an expansion pack for the PowerCell 8 battery pack, so no, you cannot use it to directly power a dash cam. However, the PowerCell 8 does work with Nextbase IQ cams. You will need to order it with the unspliced output cable to use it with your existing Nextbase IQ cam hardwiring cable.
