Does Aqua Shield go inside or outside the windshield?
Apply it to the outside of the glass in front of the camera view. Follow the film tabs and supplied instructions; it is not a lens cover.
Can I use the two films for front and rear cameras?
Yes, where each glass area and camera view are suitable. Position each film using the camera live view or a helper, and keep the driver’s visibility clear. You can also keep one film as a spare.
Can I trim the film?
Yes. The 95 × 135mm film can be trimmed for the intended area. Plan its size and position before application so the camera can see through the treated area.
How do I apply it without bubbles?
Clean the exterior glass and let it dry. Use the supplied alcohol pad and let the area dry again. Position the film, peel the application backing and smooth it from one side to the other with the scraper. Remove the outer protective layer as directed by the tabs. The original installation video below demonstrates the process.
How long does it last?
The typical service life is approximately six months. Inspect the film’s condition and the camera view; exposure and use can affect when it needs replacement.
Does it make night footage darker?
It can. Check a night recording after fitting it, especially if the camera already looks through tinted glass or a CPL filter. Do not assume that an improvement in rainy daylight will produce the same result in low light.
Can I use it with a CPL filter?
Yes, with a filter that fits your exact camera. Aqua Shield is applied to the glass, while a CPL attaches to the lens and reduces some reflections. Review daytime and night footage after combining them; neither accessory removes every visibility problem.
Is the vinyl scraper included?
Yes. This combo includes a BlackboxMyCar Vinyl Scraper as well as the film application tool kit. The standalone scraper is useful if you later need a replacement or another one for decal work.
