Park the car.
Keep the camera powered.
Our compact dash cam battery charges while you drive and supplies a compatible camera after you park. Check its charge on the built-in display and set a timer for the dash cam output.
Choose your PowerCell 5
Requires a suitable switched input and the correct connection for your camera. Recording time depends on the camera and settings.
Your dash cam's
own energy reserve.
Your dash cam needs power after the ignition goes off. PowerCell 5 stores energy while you drive, then supplies the camera when you park. The camera still determines which parking modes are available.
Charge on the road
Connect the pack to a suitable ignition-switched 12V input. An always-live socket or fuse can continue drawing from your vehicle battery while parked.
Power the parked camera
The dedicated pack supplies the camera through the appropriate harness and adapter or regulated hardwire kit. Enable the camera’s parking settings as its manual directs.
Match the setup once
Use the exact camera model, wire labels and vehicle circuit requirements. For a compatible parking setup, follow the PowerCell manual’s ACC OFF instructions.
Plan parking time
around your camera.
A low-power camera can run longer than a camera drawing more energy. These are our published PowerCell 5 reference estimates for a full pack, not guaranteed runtimes for every 1-channel or 2-channel camera.
Actual duration varies with recording mode, events, temperature and battery condition. Extra cameras, Cloud activity and connected USB devices use more power. A selected output timer can stop dash cam power sooner. The rated 51.2Wh capacity is not a measured usable-output guarantee.
See the PowerCell 5 specificationsChoose the input
that fits your vehicle.
The reference charge time is approximately 33 minutes with an 8A hardwire input, or 65 minutes with a 4A vehicle-socket input. Starting charge, supply conditions and temperature affect the time. Shorter drives replenish part of the pack.
8A hardwired charging
Use a correctly rated ignition-switched circuit and follow the manual for high-speed charging. High-speed mode is for the appropriate hardwired input, not the supplied socket cable.
4A vehicle-socket charging
Use the included 12V socket input cable and low-speed mode. Low-speed charging is the factory default. Check that the vehicle socket switches off with the ignition.
Charge only between 0°C and 45°C (32°F and 113°F). Use the current manual for wiring, fuse selection and settings.

Useful controls,
right on the pack.
The 1.65-inch LCD shows battery information, with physical buttons for settings. You don't need to pair a phone to check the charge.
Set a 1–24-hour cutoff
Choose when the dash cam connector stops supplying power. Select -- to disable the timer. USB-A and USB-C power remain outside this timer’s control.
USB-C for charging.
USB power for your devices.
The USB-C port supports input and output up to 45W. Two USB-A ports provide USB charging with a specified maximum of 20W. A compatible device, cable and charging protocol are required.
These are port specifications, not a promise that every connected device receives its maximum power at the same time. Charging other devices also reduces the energy available for parking recording.
Keep parking compatibility in mind
USB power alone may not supply the ignition signal or regulated connection your dash cam needs. Use the proper camera connection for parking mode.

Compact pack.
Practical placement.
The 0.75kg pack measures 160 × 87 × 38mm. That makes it worth considering when space matters, but vehicle fit still needs to be checked.
Choose a dry, ventilated mounting position away from direct heat, moisture and moving mechanisms. The operating range is −10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F), with a narrower charging range of 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F).
Plan your hardwire installationYour pack and
its core connections.
Both described output harnesses are supplied with PowerCell 5. The camera, its model-specific power adapter or regulated hardwire kit, and optional installation extras are separate.

Included in the box
- PowerCell 5 battery pack and user manual
- Unspliced output cable with integrated hardwire input
- Socket output cable with integrated hardwire input
- 12V vehicle-socket input cable
- One each of ATO, low-profile Mini, Micro2 and Mini Add-a-Fuse adapters with supplied 20A fuses
- 3 crimp sleeves and 2 Velcro mounting strips
The camera connector outputs 12–14.2V at up to 3A. Do not feed this directly to a 5V camera. Choose the appropriate regulated camera connection and match the installed fuse to its wiring and circuit requirements.
Check your camera connectionWill PowerCell 5 work with my dash cam?
PowerCell 5 can supply a compatible camera through the correct output harness and power adapter or regulated hardwire kit. Its camera connector outputs 12–14.2V, so do not connect it directly to a camera that needs 5V. Match the exact camera model and wire labels before installation. A USB connection alone may not provide the signals your camera needs for parking mode.
Does it still draw from my car battery while parked?
With its input correctly connected to ignition-switched power, the pack supplies the dash cam after the vehicle is switched off. An always-live socket or fuse can keep drawing from the vehicle battery. Confirm that your chosen input switches off with the ignition.
Can I use it in a 24V vehicle?
PowerCell 5 is designed for a 12V vehicle supply, with an input range of 11.5–15V. Do not connect it directly to a 24V vehicle system.
Does the shutdown timer turn off every port?
No. The 1–24-hour shutdown timer controls the dash cam input/output connector. It does not switch off the USB-A or USB-C ports. The -- setting disables the timer.
Does it have an app or an expansion battery?
PowerCell 5 has no Bluetooth app. Check its status and settings on the built-in LCD. PowerCell 5 has no supported expansion battery, even though the manual shows an EXT.BAT label.
What temperatures can it handle?
The operating range is −10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F). Charge it only between 0°C and 45°C (32°F to 113°F). Install it in a dry, ventilated position away from direct heat, moisture and moving seat parts.
What warranty comes with it?
PowerCell 5 includes a 1-year manufacturer warranty. See our warranty policy for coverage and service information.
