Replace worn adhesive when moving a compatible BlackVue dash cam or remounting it after windshield work. Choose two front pads, two rear pads, or two of each. The bracket stays with your camera; this listing supplies the replacement tape.

Each front pad measures 45 × 20mm (about 1.77 × 0.79 inches). The 2x Front Tape option supplies two pads, so you have a spare for another remount. Check the footprint of your existing bracket before ordering.

Standard BlackVue mounts vary by camera generation. The listed tape fits supported standard DR500GW, DR650, DR590, DR750, DR900, DR770X and DR970X Plus applications; it is not a universal pad for every model carrying those numbers. LTE and Box housings use different mounting parts. For Elite cameras, obtain the matching Elite tape kit.

Each rear pad measures 25 × 15mm (about 0.98 × 0.59 inches). Choose 2x Rear Tape for two small pads, or 2x Front & 2x Rear Tape for four pads total. These option names describe the actual quantity, not a camera package.

If the bracket is cracked, loose or missing, adhesive alone will not repair it. Choose the appropriate BlackVue replacement mount instead. For a larger pad that can be trimmed to a suitable mount footprint, compare Thinkware mounting tape; confirm the fit rather than stacking tape to bridge a gap.

Prepare the glass and bracket before remounting

Remove the old adhesive, clean both contact surfaces with a suitable residue-free cleaner and let them dry. Place the pad flat on the bracket, avoid touching the adhesive, then press the mount firmly onto the intended location. Follow the supplied adhesive guidance before loading the mount.

The BlackboxMyCar Windshield Cleaning Kit can help reach the glass, but a clean-looking surface must also be free of grease or cleaner residue before bonding. Do not apply new tape over loose old tape. Leave access for removing the camera, keep the lens view clear and confirm the mount is secure before driving. Check tinted film and defroster areas before using cleaners or removing adhesive.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many pads will I receive?

Two front pads, two rear pads, or two of each, depending on the selected option. The combined set contains four pads total.

Are these the same size as the original BlackVue tape?

Not always. These replacement pads may be smaller than the original pad supplied with the camera. Compare the 45 × 20mm front or 25 × 15mm rear size with the actual bracket.

Does this include a new camera bracket?

No. It supplies adhesive pads only. Replace a damaged or missing bracket with the correct model-specific mount.

Will this fit an LTE, Box or Elite camera?

These are not the dedicated pads for those housing designs. Choose the tape made for the exact mount instead of assuming all BlackVue cameras use the same footprint.

Can I reuse a pad after peeling it off?

Use fresh adhesive when remounting. A removed pad can pick up debris or lose its bond; clean off the old material before fitting a new pad.

Can I place new tape over the old tape?

No. Remove loose adhesive and residue, then clean and dry the contact surfaces. Stacking pads leaves the bond dependent on the old layer.

What should I check before attaching the camera?

Confirm pad fit, clear lens view, access to the release mechanism and firm contact with clean, dry glass. Follow the adhesive instructions and check the mount is secure before driving.

What if the supplied pad is too small?

Compare a larger trim-to-fit pad or the exact manufacturer tape for your bracket. Do not assume a small contact patch or stacked tape will safely support an unsuitable mount.

What warranty coverage applies?

BlackboxMyCar provides six months of retailer coverage unless otherwise stated. BlackVue excludes replacement adhesive tape from its manufacturer warranty.

Very disappointing. I ordered this expecting proper double-sided 3M tape, like the OEM version that originally came with the dash cam. Instead, I received small strips of light grey tape that looked terrible on the windshield — far too visible and not suitable for a clean install.

I had to peel it all off, which took a frustrating amount of time, and ended up buying proper black 3M tape from Canadian Tire to fix it. No idea why they wouldn’t just include the correct OEM-style material. A complete waste of time and money!

This product should be discontinued

This product should be discontinued. First, the tape isn’t the same size as the original mounting tape that came with the dash camera when I bought it years ago. It could be because of a design change, but I’m not sure. However, after a few days in the heat, this replacement BlackVue mounting tape failed, causing my dash cam to fall from my windshield. I never had that problem with the original tape on my old car. I don’t believe the issue was with the glass or dash cam, as I followed the same steps as the original mounting tape. In my opinion, it’s a waste of $10, and you’d be better off getting some 3M double-sided tape.

Just what the doctor ordered

My daughter had her windshield replaced. She tried various glues including rear view mirror adhesive to try and get her BlackVue dashcam back on the windshield but nothing worked. Then I found the tape on blackboxmycar and gave it a shot. As you might expect, it worked perfectly.

After moving my dash cam to a new vehicle and using 2 sided tape, the heat from the sun weakened the adhesive. I got the proper tape and it works great. Camera stays in place even with the heat from the sun shining on the front window.

Awesome replacement!

With our Canadian winters come rock chips which mean annual windshield replacement. With the BlackVue official mounting tape it makes the dash camera stay secured. Before that I relied on the wind shield shop to use their tape and it was cheap and would come off after a couple of weeks.

BlackVue Mounting Tape (DR650/750/900)

I needed to move my rear camera (DR900S-2Ch) and there was no way I was saving the mounting tape that came with the camera. The replacement tape fits perfect and sticks as well as the tape that came with the camera.
