Thinkware MB-100 Multiplexer

Add side, cabin or rear views to a supported Thinkware dash cam. The MB-100 combines up to four additional cameras into one recording alongside the separate front view, giving you up to five views for an RV, work vehicle or multi-camera installation. This like-new Outlet item has passed BlackboxMyCar’s in-house 10-point check. Cameras are sold separately.

Add the views your vehicle needs

Connect compatible cameras to CAM 1 through CAM 4 and send the combined picture to the front recorder’s rear-camera input. A supported Thinkware Q200 or another compatible front dash cam records and stores the footage.

Choose the camera positions and cable routes before installation. The supplied U1000 Plus and Q850 adapters and 7.5m ARC cable cover specific connections; check the exact host and camera combination in the installation guide.

The extra views share one 1080p recording at 30FPS. With four equally sized views, each quadrant occupies 960 × 540 pixels. The front camera keeps its own recording and resolution.

The switches on the box select the layout. Check the saved video from each camera position before concealing the cables, especially if small or distant detail matters. Both the module and front dash cam need the correct power connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Multiplexer record on its own?

No. It combines camera feeds for a compatible Thinkware front dash cam, which handles recording and storage. The module has no separate memory-card recorder.

Which front dash cams support it?

Thinkware’s installation guide lists ARC800, U1000 Plus, U1000 PRO, Q850 PRO, Q850, Q200, F200 PRO, F790, X850, X800 and X700. Match the connection cable or adapter to the exact model; similar model names do not establish compatibility.

Does it add four cameras on top of an existing front-and-rear system?

It supports the front camera plus up to four additional feeds. A rear camera you keep becomes one of the module’s four inputs, so the maximum is five views in total.

Does each extra camera get a separate Full HD video file?

No. The additional feeds share one 1920 × 1080 file at 30FPS. In an equal four-view grid, each occupies 960 × 540 pixels. The front dash cam records its own file separately.

Are cameras included with this package?

No. The package contains the module, power and V-Out cables, two model-specific adapters, the 7.5m ARC cable and guides. Choose the compatible front recorder and add-on cameras separately.

Can the system record while parked?

Parking recording depends on the supported front dash cam, its settings and the power installation. Both the front recorder and Multiplexer must remain correctly powered. The module is not a battery or low-voltage cutoff device.

How do I choose the view layout?

Use the switch diagram on the module and the installation guide for the number of attached cameras. Confirm all feeds and their positions in Live View and a saved recording before final mounting.

Can I install it myself?

Thinkware recommends professional installation. Plan camera positions, power and cable routes, then test the feeds before securing the module and concealing wiring.
