BlackVue CPL-2 Front Camera Filter

Reduce windshield reflections in bright daytime footage with the BlackVue CPL-2 filter. This front-camera accessory fits supported Elite systems and DR970X LTE Plus models. Match the exact model before ordering; it is different from the older BF-1 filter.

Reflections from the dashboard and windshield can obscure useful detail in a recording. A circular polarizing filter can reduce those reflections and improve daytime contrast. The comparison image illustrates the difference a polarizing filter can make; results depend on light direction, glass and camera position.

Plan for Daylight and Low Light

A polarizing layer reduces some reflected light before it reaches the camera lens. It also reduces incoming light overall. BlackVue does not recommend this filter for night or low-light recording, so review sample footage in the conditions you normally drive in.

Clean and align the filter

Check the camera lens and both filter surfaces for dust before fitting the CPL-2. Use the supplied microfiber cloth and follow the mounting steps for your camera. The white positioning mark helps establish the intended orientation; review the live view and a saved recording after installation.

If reflections still cover the image, check the lens cleanliness and filter alignment first. Results vary with the light direction and glass, so a filter cannot remove every reflection.

Choose the Correct Front-Camera Filter

The CPL-2 is specified for supported Elite front cameras and the DR970X-2CH LTE Plus front camera. BlackVue North America also lists DR970X-2CH LTE Plus II. It is not a rear-camera filter and does not fit the non-LTE DR970X Plus or Plus II.

Compatible current models include Elite 8 2CH, Elite 9, Elite 10 and DR970X LTE Plus II. The camera is sold separately.

Which BlackVue cameras does this CPL-2 fit?

It fits the front camera of Elite 8, Elite 9 and Elite 10 systems, plus DR970X-2CH LTE Plus and LTE Plus II. Match the full camera name; a similar lens shape does not prove compatibility.

Can I use it on a rear camera?

No. This listing is for the supported front cameras. It is not a front-and-rear filter set.

Does it fit a non-LTE DR970X Plus or Plus II?

No. The LTE Plus model name matters. The non-LTE versions use a different lens housing.

Is CPL-2 the same as BF-1?

No. They fit different cameras. Use the filter specified for the exact model rather than choosing the one that looks similar.

Should I leave it fitted for night driving?

BlackVue does not recommend it for night or low-light recording because it reduces incoming light. Check your footage and remove it when the conditions require it.

Why do I still see reflections?

A polarizer cannot remove every reflection. Check for dust or fingerprints and verify the alignment using the installation guide. Light angle, windshield glass and camera position also affect the result.

Does it need power or a firmware update?

No. It is an optical accessory fitted over the camera lens, with no cable or electronic connection. Check the mounting instructions before installation.

What is included, and do I need another filter?

This listing includes one CPL-2, a microfiber cloth and an instruction manual. A camera is separate. If your dash cam bundle already has a compatible filter, you do not need to stack another one over it.

What warranty coverage applies?

This accessory has a two-year BlackVue manufacturer warranty, which BlackboxMyCar honors. Our default retailer coverage is six months unless otherwise stated; it does not shorten this product’s two-year manufacturer coverage.
