Can both cameras record at 60FPS, and can I use HDR with Night Vision?
The highest-resolution pair is 4K front + 2K rear at 30FPS. At 60FPS, the front records 2K and the rear Full HD 1080p. Both use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors. Front and rear HDR work only in continuous driving mode; Night Vision cannot operate with HDR, and selecting it for driving disables HDR.
What comes with the camera, and how should I install it?
The front camera has the 3.5-inch touchscreen; the supplied rear camera records through the rear window, not the cabin. A hardwire cable, cigarette-lighter cable, 64GB card and 6m rear cable are included. Plan cable routing around trim and the tailgate. Correct constant-power, ACC and ground connections and battery-protection settings are required for parking recording from the vehicle battery.
Which parking modes record before an event?
Motion Detection saves 10 seconds before and 10 seconds after movement or impact. Time Lapse captures 50 seconds before and 50 seconds after an impact at 2FPS, saved as a 20-second playback file. Energy Saving without radar begins after impact detection and records for 20 seconds. Choose one mode at a time and back up parking files before changing modes; the previous mode’s recordings are deleted.
Does radar save every passing object, and what happens in hot weather?
The optional radar wakes the camera from Energy Saving, but an impact must follow for a recording to be saved. With no impact it returns to Energy Saving. Smart Parking thermal protection can switch Motion Detection or Time Lapse to low-power, impact-only recording when the cabin gets too hot. The operating range is −10°C to 60°C; external power is required, and the supercapacitor is not an overnight battery.
Can I monitor the car remotely or copy files through USB-C?
Ordinary Wi-Fi is for nearby DASH CAM LINK access. Remote access uses the optional TCM-LTE module and cable, SIM and suitable data service through Thinkware CONNECTED; plan limits, coverage and camera power apply. Register in DASH CAM LINK first and select LTE Modem in the USB-C settings. Direct USB-C file access instead needs a data cable and compatible device or adapter, and stops recording while connected.
Which memory cards are supported, and what driver alerts are available?
The manual lists Thinkware 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB microSD cards and does not guarantee third-party card compatibility. Front Vehicle Start Alert and Traffic Light Change Alert in US/Canada are supported after camera alignment. They are reminders, not a substitute for watching the road.
How does this compare with the U3000 Pro, and what warranty applies?
The ARC900 offers a touchscreen and optional external radar; the U3000 Pro is screenless with radar built into the front and rear cameras. Check the exact package and power accessories when choosing. A new ARC900 has a one-year manufacturer warranty under Thinkware’s North American policy; keep your purchase receipt.
