VIOFO A139 Pro 3CH Front + Rear + Cabin Dash Cam

The VIOFO A139 Pro 3CH records the road ahead, following traffic and the vehicle interior. Its 4K front camera uses Sony STARVIS 2 and HDR, while separate 1080p rear and infrared cabin cameras add context for rideshare or taxi work. Full-height 4K three-camera recording runs at 24FPS across all views; choose the cropped 1600p front mode for 30FPS. Local Wi-Fi connects a nearby phone for setup and playback.

The cameras supplied in this package

The front camera has an 8MP Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor, 1/1.8-inch type, with an F1.6 lens and 140° field of view. The rear and cabin cameras use 2MP Sony STARVIS IMX291 sensors with F1.6 lenses and a 165° field of view. These secondary sensors are the earlier STARVIS generation.

Full-height 3840 × 2160 front recording uses 24FPS with both secondary cameras connected. A 3840 × 1600 cropped front image or 2K front recording permits 30FPS across all three views.

Front HDR for mixed lighting

HDR combines exposure information to balance bright headlights and darker road areas. It is a front-camera feature. Light, distance, motion and glare still affect readable detail, so inspect saved recordings under your normal driving conditions.

The front CPL-200 is included to reduce dashboard reflections. The rear takes optional CPL-300 from our VIOFO CPL filters selector. The infrared cabin camera does not need a CPL filter.

Adjust the lens before driving

The front lens rotates through nearly 300° so you can aim it for the windshield angle. Keep the road horizon level and the view clear of mirror housings, tint edges and windshield obstructions. If you turn the lens into the cabin, it stops recording the road ahead.

Use the phone’s live view while parked to check alignment. The camera has no built-in screen. After installation, inspect original recordings to check focus, reflections and the separate camera views.

Infrared recording inside the cabin

The supplied cabin camera records 1080p and uses six infrared LEDs for dark interiors. Set IR to Off, On or Auto; active infrared produces black-and-white footage. Seats, occupants and mounting position can still block parts of the cabin.

Aim the camera where it can see the passenger area without an obstruction. Review both daylight and dark-cabin clips after installation, and choose audio recording settings appropriate to your use.

Local Wi-Fi playback and camera alerts

Use 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi to connect a nearby phone to the VIOFO app. You can adjust settings and download recordings. Download speed depends on your phone and surroundings.

The camera speaks status notifications, including card errors and protected-file messages. It does not accept voice commands, provide LTE/cloud remote viewing or send parking push alerts while you are away. An optional BTR200 remote provides a physical control for protecting an important clip.

Parking modes need a suitable power supply

The A139 Pro supports buffered event detection, time-lapse and low-bitrate recording. Event mode saves detected activity; time-lapse records continuously at a low frame rate without audio; low-bitrate mode saves continuous video with audio.

Use a compatible HK3-C or VIOFO HK4 hardwire kit to provide constant power, an ignition signal and low-voltage cutoff. Runtime varies with the battery, cutoff, temperature and recording settings. A switched socket stops supplying power when it turns off; the camera’s supercapacitor is not an extended-recording battery.

Cable routing and storage

The 6m rear and 1m cabin cables use slim coaxial connectors. Power off the camera before connecting or disconnecting them, keep the plugs aligned and route wiring clear of airbags and moving trim.

Choose a high-endurance microSD card up to 512GB. All supplied camera files share that card. Export important originals before loop recording reuses space, and back up recordings before formatting or updating firmware.

Slim 2.8mm A139-series coaxial connector beside a larger cable connector for comparison

For a newer system with 4K front + 2K rear + 1080p infrared cabin recording at 30FPS, compare the A229 Pro 3CH. Its cameras, cables and accessories have different requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What cameras are included?

This VIOFO A139 Pro 3CH package supplies front, rear and infrared cabin cameras. The cabin camera has six infrared LEDs for dark interiors.

What frame rate does this configuration record?

The full-height 3840 × 2160 front mode records at 24FPS across all three cameras. For 30FPS, select the cropped 3840 × 1600 front mode or 2K front, with both secondary views at 1080p. The cropped mode has less vertical image area.

Can I use 2K 60FPS with HDR?

No. The manual states that front 2K 60FPS requires HDR off; enabling HDR switches it to 30FPS. The 60FPS option applies to front-only or two-camera operation. This three-camera configuration does not offer it while all three cameras record.

Do all cameras have STARVIS 2 and HDR?

The front uses Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 and supports HDR. The supplied rear and cabin cameras use earlier Sony STARVIS IMX291 sensors; front HDR does not make those sensors STARVIS 2.

How does the cabin camera work in darkness?

Its six infrared LEDs provide illumination. Select Off, On or Auto; footage is black and white when IR is on. Test the angle with passengers or seats in their normal positions because a wide lens cannot see through obstructions.

How do I aim a camera without a screen?

Connect a nearby phone to the VIOFO app and use live view while parked. Rotate the front lens to suit the windshield, then inspect original recordings. Turning the front lens toward the cabin removes the forward road view.

Does it accept voice commands?

No. The A139 Pro gives spoken status notifications but does not respond to voice commands. Use the buttons or app; an optional BTR200 remote can protect a clip with a physical button.

What is required for parking recording?

Use a compatible HK3-C or VIOFO HK4 hardwire kit. The installation needs constant power, ignition sensing and ground. Configure the cutoff and check the transition between driving and parking. Memory card and kit are sold separately.

Which parking mode should I choose?

Choose buffered event detection for detected activity, time-lapse for a continuous low-frame-rate record without audio, or low bitrate for continuous video with audio. Storage use and useful runtime vary by mode and power supply.

Will it record overnight and notify my phone?

Overnight runtime is not guaranteed; the battery, cutoff, heat and settings determine when recording stops. The A139 Pro has no LTE/cloud remote service and does not send parking push alerts to a phone away from the vehicle.

Can I delay parking mode entry?

The manual describes immediate entry or a 90-second delay with a hardwire cable. It says this delay does not work with an external battery. A separate parking timer can limit how long the camera records.

Which card and filters fit?

Use a high-endurance microSD card up to 512GB. Front CPL-200 is included. Rear CPL-300 is optional; select it from our VIOFO CPL filters page. The infrared cabin camera does not need a CPL.

Can GPS or Wi-Fi locate my car remotely?

No. GPS stores route, speed and time with recordings, while Wi-Fi connects a nearby phone for settings and downloads. Neither feature is a cellular tracker or internet connection.

Can I connect an external microphone?

Yes. The A139 Pro supports an optional compatible 3.5mm microphone. It also has a built-in microphone, and audio can be switched off in the settings.

Which firmware should I use?

Use the A139 Pro firmware page and its FWA139P.bin file. The original A139 uses a different file. Back up recordings, format the card as instructed and maintain stable power through the update. Recheck settings and sample clips afterward.

What condition is this unit in?

BlackboxMyCar Outlet products are tested, like new and backed by our in-house 10-point check. This unit includes a 12-month BlackboxMyCar warranty and our normal return policy. See our warranty and Outlet terms.

What accessories and package limitations should I check?

Front CPL-200 is included. Memory card, hardwire kit, remote and rear CPL-300 are sold separately.

One of the best triple dashcams on the current market

I installed this camera into my girlfriend's card since she didn't have one. I have the VIOFO 119A dual, so I knew they were a good company and made a good product. Her Nissan had some issues with the install, including my own fault for not getting the correct fuse attachments and finding a good ground bolt, however, the setup was easy outside of that and works wonderfully. The app is intuitive and useful, and all the cords fit well out of site.
My only complaint, which is minor, is the color for the interior camera. Blacks become purple. Not a huge deal, but just something to be aware of.

Ejecting Micro SD card

Be careful going with this model.

I brought mine in about 2 months after purchase because the micro sd card self ejected and the camera refused to hold the card anymore.
Luckily it was under warranty and BBMC replaced it for me free of charge.
But 2 years later the same thing happened and now I'm left hunting for a new dashcam.

Practical dash cam

VIOFO brand is top-notch and has all the needs for a great dash cam. Great quality camera that captures fine details even in low light situation. This is my second purchase of a VIOFO brand dash cam.

Best Experience

This is my 4th dash cam from BlackboxMyCar and they really have taken care of me. The Viofo A139 Pro 3 channel is the best dash cam to date. I love it and I’m an Uber driver, so a quality dash cam is a must have.

Its just okay

I had this camera now for over two years. I had to send it in twice to get repair. It will stop recording for days, but the camera is showing recording. I wont buy another one. I will stick to blackvue.

Not Reliable

The jury is still out. Camera video quality is nice when it’s working. Camera tends to lock up from time to time so I can’t trust it. Reached out to VIOFO – submitted 2 tickets – got no response. Currently going thought the laborious RMA process with BlackBoxMyCar. They don’t just send you a replacement. I’ve had the camera for less than 2 months. It’s not summer so heat should not be the issue with the lock up as others have complained. I’ve tried updating the firmware using vendors and every YouTube recommendation/process out there. Camera never updates. This is my 1st VIOFO camera out of probably 6 Dashcams I’ve had. For now, I’d stay away from this A139 Pro until they get the bugs worked out.

VIOFO 139 pro 1-channel

Camera works great. The image and videos are clear, hdr is on and I turned the cpl filter a tiny bit from center and got rid of glare. The app is a bit finicky but works great once I figured out to put my phone in airplane mode when connected to the cameras wifi for setup.

Solid dash cam

I’ve very satisfied with the A139. This is my first dash cam without a screen and turns out I don’t miss it at all %28once I was able to use the phone to get the settings dialed in…see below%29. The quality of the footage is also very good. %0D%0A%0D%0AI deducted one star because on my particular unit the WiFi constantly drops its connection to my iPhone. Very frustrating when you have enough time to maybe change one setting on the camera before the connection drops%29. At first I thought perhaps this was due to the various WiFi settings on my iPhone %28private WiFi address%2C limit IP tracking%2C auto joining other nearby networks%29 but no combination of settings fixed it. Then afterwards I installed a Viofo A129 in another vehicle and the same phone had zero issues keeping a solid WiFi connection with the camera. Changing the A139’s WiFi to 2.4 ghz didn’t help%2C nor did changing the default SSID and password. %0D%0A%0D%0AHoping a firmware update may help.

Great Dash Cam and Service

I really like the Viofo A139 Pro dash cam that I got from Blackbox. The service I got from BlackboxMyCar was great. I forgot to claim the discount I was offered when I ordered. No problem, the company refunded the difference to my credit card after a quick call.

Nice hardware/Terrible software

Logging into the camera through my phone (android) it gets stuck at wifi (even tho I told it to remember me), I have to close the app and reopen after wifi connection for it start allowing access to settings/video logs/etc. If I make changes in settings it may stick, it may not, all I know is sometimes the settings are different than what I requested. Viewing video has no zoom, my doorbell has lower quality and let's me zoom. Dusk footage is...OK. Night glare is kinda bad but half that problem is unavoidable with stuff on the windscreen and is no fault of the camera. This will be a problem for any/all dashcams. As long as the sun doesn't cause glare issues day time video is great withsoftware seemingly the only hindrance from fully capitalizing on the quality. I'm hoping the devs are able to update/upgrade 80% of these gripes and hope for a more streamlined experience moving forward.

Oh and if you turn video loop off you would think video would run continously for your drive but it still parses it to around 9 minutes in 4k mode. 10 minute setting gives you more time than "off" so not sure why it was an option..

Great dash cam and good price on sale. Good support

Bought this on sale and it is definitely a good purchase. Much better image quality than my previous camera. I don't really do ridesharing but it is nice to know I'll be safer if I do. The IR camera was defective from the box. Reached out to the support team and received excellent support from Katrina. The whole BBMC crew are product experts and are one of the reasons why I chose to purchase from BBMC compared to other online vendors. The information available from their YouTube channel is also extremely helpful.

Very good 3-channel cam at a reasonable price

This was the second cam I installed in my Subaru Legacy sedan - my first, a Campark/Cambase DC40, didn't work out very well. So I already knew my way around routing the wiring in my car, which is without any forward-facing driver assist cams or sensors and the attendant housing for them behind the mirror. This made my installation comparatively easy. The A139 works flawlessly and the video quality is excellent - on a par with Blackvue and Thinkware cams that cost much more, judging by the reviews I've seen on Youtube (including the ones by Blackboxmycar.) The separate interior camera makes for a slightly less tidy installation but gives great flexibility in finding a mounting location for it. The skinny, slightly stiff coax wiring for the interior and rear cams makes for a very easy and neat installation, but from what I've read, some people with early A139s last year had trouble with getting reliable connections to those cameras - the typical symptom seemed to be loose connectors on the A139 main camera. No problems like that for me. I would recommend the A139 based on my own experience with it.

Great, relatively easy to set up (actual set up took less than 5 minutes, but it took me about an hour to do the complete set up including hiding wiring in my car) and overall happy with the quality. Only wish that all the cameras were 60fps.

Excellent hardware, mediocre app

I am overall happy with my purchase. The video quality is great. The mobile app could use some updating though. Slow transfers over wifi, random disconnects in the middle of a transfers, etc. Definitely happy with the videos thenselves though

Best 3 channel dash camera in the market!

I had a Viofo a139 on my Honda CRV and it was holding up well so I have decided to purchase a new one for my Honda Civic. It works well during summer and winter time. No issues with the heat and Viofo also updates its firmware every so often. All in all, I am happy with my purchase on BlackboxMyCar. Everything went smooth. Will definitely buy an external battery pack in the future.

The purchase on the website was fast and so was the shipping. I was able to install myself. The directions are very clear. Videos are very clear. This by far the best dash cam I have had.
