The BlackboxMyCar Power Inverter supplies household power to a dash cam or compatible dash cam battery pack through its cigarette-lighter adapter. This is the 8A model, useful for charging a battery pack at home when short drives leave it partly charged.

Charge a battery pack away from the vehicle

Connect the power supply to a suitable three-prong household outlet, then plug your dash cam or battery pack's cigarette-lighter adapter into its output socket. The supply converts AC household power to DC; the camera or battery still needs its own matching vehicle power cable.

The 8A model supports the PowerCell 8 battery pack and BlackVue B-130A. It can also supply equipment with a lower current requirement when the voltage, connector and charging method are compatible. Confirm the exact model before using it with another battery.

For a PowerCell 8, a replacement cigarette charging cable connects to this supply if you need a spare. The battery pack and its input cable are separate from the inverter.

Great set up to use the AC option

I think it’s a great idea to be able to charge it without having to be using the cars battery. So basically I have three options.

Beware of Tariffs

This is a good product, but be careful of tariffs in the U S A. If this product is sent to you from Canada it will cost you 4 times the price of the item in tariffs. FedEx will bill you over $200.

As Expected

Works as expected. Batteries will not charge fully with the vehicle charging, so need to pull them out and charge them from an outlet.

Power Inverter meets all my expectations. Charging battery from home is far more convenient than from my car's battery, which periodically is drained by the powercell battery.

When I checked 40 minutes later the Blackvue Battery was fully charged I was expecting it would take hours to recharge so I am very happy with the purchase to this product Only 3 months warranty is a worry Postage to Australia via Fedex was quick ,11 days. and tracking was available

Easy use

Plug and use. Really easy and works as described. Has a red light while charging and turns green when the unit , Celllink Neo main battery, is fully charged at my home power outlet.

When initially charging the battery, why is the light on the power inverter red? Will it still continue to charge the battery?

The BlackboxMyCar power inverter outputs 116.8W (at 14.6V and 8A). This means the inverter can provide sufficient power if your PowerCore operates within its lower power range, but it may not fully meet the power requirements at the higher end of the PowerCore's voltage range (32V).

What does the LED on the inverter indicate? The LED was green when I first plugged the the inverter in with no load. Very shortly after plugging the B-130X in, the the LED on the inverter is now red. Is this normal, or indicating some type of failure? The B-130X is still charging.

The LED on the BlackboxMyCar Power Inverter indicates the following:

- Green: No output, meaning either nothing is plugged in or the connected device is fully charged.
- Red: The inverter is currently charging the plugged-in device.

So, seeing a red LED while the B-130X is charging is normal and indicates that it is actively charging.
