Have you ever wondered what a 4-channel dash cam setup would look like in a car?

A month ago, we sent our friend Chuck (@PanzerPlatform) a new VIOFO A129 Plus Duo (now discontinued) for a review and Chuck got creative and created a 4-channel setup with 2 VIOFO A129 Plus Duos. We checked out his footage and we decided we need to join in on the fun, too!

And what better dash cam for this fun experiment than the Thinkware U1000 (now discontinued) 4K Dual-Channel dash cam!

We installed 2 U1000 Dual-Channels into Joseph’s car and took it out for a spin.

Our 4-Channel Dash Cam Setup

We took the front units from the two Thinkware U1000 (now discontinued) 4K Dual-Channels and mounted them on the front and rear windshield. This gives us a combined 300-degrees front and rear coverage in 4K UHD @30FPS.

For the side of the car, we used the smaller rear cameras - getting 2K QHD @30FPS of the left and right sides of the car.

With this setup, we get a combined 600-degree view range - nothing’s going to be missed for sure!

Tell us what you think! Maybe next time we will try a 4-Channel BlackVue DR900X-2CH (now discontinued). Or maybe the DR750-2CH LTE (now discontinued) for a 4-Channel 60FPS recording - that would be interesting for sure!
