Clear Vibrant Colours with Rich Details

Equipped with a 5MP Sony STARVIS image sensor, the A129 Plus captures the road ahead at 2K QHD. You get sharper, higher quality video with key details in all lighting situations. 140-degree viewing angle offers wide shooting coverage with minimal edge-to-edge distortion, pair it with the Full HD rear camera for a combined 300-degree comprehensive coverage so you don't miss a thing.

The front camera is also capable of recording extra fluid videos at 60 frames per second in a single or dual-camera setup, keeping all details sharp even in fast action. With 60fps, motion blur is much reduced compared to 30fps. That means your VIOFO can better capture details–like license plates–even in fast-moving objects.

BlackboxMyCar-exclusive non-eMMC Version

Please note that this model will be $10 less than other retailers as it's the non-eMMC version (does not come with the 16GB flash storage), exclusively available at BlackboxMyCar.

Dash Camera Upgrade and Compatibility

The A129 Plus Duo front camera is not compatible with the rear camera and connecting cables of previous VIOFO models.

HDR & 60FPS Compatibility

The A129 Plus does not support using 1440p @ 60FPS and HDR simultaneously. Note that you will have to choose one or the other during setup.

QHD+ 1600p at 30FPS is available in the latest production and firmware release. Update your A129 Plus Duo firmware to unlock all available recording options.

Keeps Watch When You're Away

With motion and impact detection parking mode, the A129 Plus protects your car, recording videos when it detects movement or impact, even when you're not there.

You will need a 3-wire Hardwiring cable or an external battery pack (such as the Cellink NEO Battery Pack) to enable this feature.

VIOFO 3-Wire ACC Hardwiring Kit sold separately.

Buffered Parking Mode not supported on the VIOFO A129 Plus.

Add Speed and Location Data to Your Videos

This A129 Plus comes with the external GPS module. With the GPS, you can record your speed and route data in your video footage files. The GPS will also synchronize the A129 Plus' clock with the GPS time so that your video files can be correctly time-stamped.

Did you know that your footage with speed and location information can be used a defense if you believe you received the ticket in error.

GPS Antenna embedded in mount.

Full Control at Your Fingertips

Say goodbye to taking the memory card in and out of the dash cam every time you want to review a footage clip. The A129 Plus built-in Wi-Fi lets you connect with the VIOFO App to control dash cam settings and access footage clips on the spot. Full control at your fingertips.

Alternatively, you can use the 2.0" HD screen with user-friendly buttons allow for easy setup and playback of videos, or plug the microSD card into your computer and use a desktop viewer to manage your footage.

Good video quality during daytime, some quirks though

Daytime, front camera video is awesome, really loving the quality when I was spot checking some files. The rear camera is crisp too, even though it's 1080. Haven't really checked night vision videos as much yet. Wiring was easy, and though I bought the fuse power kit, I ended up going for an OBD power cable from Amazon which worked great! Now for the quirks:

1. The unit's built-in wifi was basically non-functional for me. I sat in the car fiddling with it for almost 20mins and never could get a single file to download to my phone. It would just take forever. Finally gave up, took the microSD card out, and put it in a computer -- all files were immediately available. Never tried the wifi again.

2. Been using the camera for maybe a month now, and just experienced my first crash. Pulling time stamps from the video files, seems like it happened around noontime while the car was parked (one corrupted video file with that timestamp, followed by the next video right around the time I fixed it - a lapse of about 8hrs). Got the indication when the screen (normally off) was on and I saw what looked like vertical streaks instead of a front view. Pushing buttons didn't do anything so it seemed like the entire unit was unresponsive and showing garbage on screen. Had to power cycle the camera. The rear view is in a PIP window and, I noticed after the main unit power cycle, it came out black. So I ended up power cycling the rear camera too. After both power cycles, the video for both was showing in the screen again and things seemed to go back to normal.

Camera is great and has good quality footage on both the front and rear. There are worse cameras out there and obviously better cameras. For the cost, 248.00 including a CPL filter and hard wire kit. It's decent. You can buy both cheaper on Aliexpress but not for the bundle I got from Black Box.
