What is Parking Mode?

Parking mode is offered on most of the dash cams available at BlackboxMyCar. While it is important to protect your vehicle while driving, it is just as important to have your vehicle protected while it is parked. When the dash cam is in parking mode, footage will only be saved when there is an impact and/or motion. Parking mode can be enabled with a hardwiring kit or a battery pack.

What is a Hardwire Kit?

A hardwiring kit enables parking mode. It allows your dash cam to remain powered on even when the vehicle's ignition is turned off. Installation is a breeze as you will only need to find an accessory fuse, constant fuse, and a grounding point.

What is a Battery Pack?

Most customers purchase the battery pack to avoid using the vehicle’s battery to power their dash cam. The battery pack is charged by either being hardwired into an accessory fuse or by being plugged into one of the vehicle's 12-volt cigarette sockets. We recommend the hardwiring the battery pack as it charges the battery pack quicker.

How much footage will my memory card store?

On average, a 2-channel dash cam writes 16GB/hour and a 1-channel dash cam writes about 8GB/hour.

Do I need a Rear Camera?

Accidents or events don't always happen at the front of the vehicle! Having a rear camera provides coverage for any events or accidents that may happen at the rear of the vehicle.

Do I need a IR Rear Camera?

An IR camera is designed to record the interior of the vehicle in low light conditions. This option is very popular among rideshare drivers.

What is a CPL filter?

A CPL filter attaches to the dash cam lens to eliminate lens flares, light reflections, and windshield glares.

The product listing does include a compatibility list to help identify the correct mount before purchase, but we understand how frustrating it is when the wrong part is ordered. As a smaller specialized retailer, we unfortunately do not have the same resources as larger platforms to fully subsidize return shipping. I ORDERED THE WRONG BRACKET

I needed bracket for DR970X 2ch LTE and ordered what looked like the best fit--in that I couldn't find a non-tamper proof on website. Then I later ordered the obvious tamper proof and found it is not carried anymore. They sent me what I ordered (non-tamper proof) and found out they don't give refunds on accessories.

All previous experiences with BlackBoxMyCar have been fantastic and I will still give them my business. I attribute this error to me being "an older guy" and I just didn't connect the dots on the details.

Perfect oem fix

I was having my windshield replaced and tried to reuse the old mount. The tape messed up and the camera would fall all the time. I tried some other mounting tape for it and had the same issue. I contacted blackvuie and they informed me the oem mount has the tape machine pressed on and would fix the issue i was having.

They were 100% correct camera hasn't fallen since! Worth the $ or even just to have spares.

There is really nothing to write about other than it fits perfectly. The mount for DR900S will fit fine with DR750S. You will just have to ignore the wording of "4K UHD" label. So if you find yourself needing the mount for DR750S, but it is sold out, just buy the mount for DR900S.

I did not pay attention to where it was shipped from "Canada", so it took awhile to reach Virginia USA. Otherwise the seller is prompt with tracking info all the way to delivery date.

Improvements to the black box my car camera software.

I purchased the black box my car as I was nearly in an accident and one week after that someone keyed my car. So I was after the ability to have g-shock and movement sensor to record when I wasn't in my car.
1- I did find the movement sensor on the camera was way to sensitive and even with the sensitivity turned all the way down to 1 I got 8 hours of video while park facing and empty field for 9 hours. This is something Blackboxmycar should look into as an update to software turning down the sensitivity on this sensor so it only registers something with a few feet of the car not clouds going by in the sky. I have since turned off this feature as if I park my car for anymore than 8 hours (a work day) I begin to record over the first footage, not to mention the draws on the car battery cause the camera to shut down within a day or two recording all that footage thanks to the multisafer.
2- The voice warning of the unit even when turned up to 100% is not loud enough to hear when the unit is placed behind the rear view mirror. might want to update this as well.
3- The video is amazing both front and rear cameras, the sales personnel might want to discuss with future customers that the 16gig card won't record enoug
