What does the 1CH package record?
It records Full HD 1080p at 60FPS in front. There is one front camera in the box; no rear camera or rear cable is included.
Does it use Sony STARVIS 2 sensors?
No. This model uses approximately 2.1MP Sony STARVIS CMOS sensors in its front camera. Do not confuse it with a 4K BlackVue model that specifies STARVIS 2.
Will 60FPS guarantee clear license plates?
No. It captures more frames per second than 30FPS and can make motion look smoother, but exposure, light, speed, distance and viewing angle still affect plate readability.
Is the hardwiring cable included?
Yes. The package includes the hardwiring power cable, as well as a USB-C power cable and vehicle adapter. Hardwiring needs suitable constant-power and ignition-switched circuits plus ground; use the installation guide and a qualified installer where needed.
Can it record in parking mode from USB-C power?
BlackVue’s Series II installation guide says the USB-C PD power cable and USB-C vehicle-adapter methods do not support parking mode. Use the included hardwiring cable or a compatible external dash cam battery for parking recording.
How long will it record while parked?
There is no single guaranteed duration. It depends on the power source, battery condition, temperature, connected accessories, recording mode and cutoff settings. With vehicle hardwiring, configure voltage protection and a timer; an external battery offers a separate power source.
Do I need the LTE module for Cloud access?
You need internet at the camera, but it can come from a suitable Wi-Fi hotspot or the optional CM100G LTE module with a compatible activated SIM and data plan. The camera does not contain an LTE modem.
Can I record without a subscription?
Yes. Local microSD recording and nearby app access do not require a Cloud subscription. Remote Cloud features require an account and internet connection, and some functions or usage levels depend on the Cloud plan.
Does Bluetooth transfer the recordings?
Bluetooth supports pairing. The built-in Wi-Fi connection handles local video access and downloads in the BlackVue app. Keep the phone nearby for a direct connection.
What memory-card capacity is supported?
BlackVue specifies cards up to 1TB. Use a compatible card and follow the manufacturer’s formatting guidance. The maximum capacity is not the size of the card included in every package.
Can I save an event manually?
Yes. The camera’s touch sensor can trigger a manual recording, depending on its setting. Check that setting in the app and copy important files before they can be overwritten.
Does the supercapacitor power the camera overnight?
No. It is backup power for shutdown, not an internal battery for hours of recording. Parking recording needs an ongoing external power supply.
Can the camera shut down in hot weather?
Yes. The manufacturer lists a high-temperature cutoff around 80°C. The operating-temperature specification is not a promise of uninterrupted recording in a hot vehicle.
Can I add a rear camera later?
BlackVue lists the DR770X-1CH II as upgradeable to two channels. A rear camera and connection cable must be specified for this model; they are sold separately from the one-channel package.
What warranty comes with this new dash cam?
This new BlackVue dash cam comes with a two-year warranty. Refurbished dash cams follow the separate 12-month policy.
