BTC-1C: Classic BlackVue Series Protection

The BTC-1C tamper-proof case is engineered for BlackVue's DR750X, DR770X, DR900X, and DR970X series dash cams. This lightweight, durable case fits securely over the front camera body and locks in place with two tamper-resistant allen-head screws (allen wrench included). Once installed, the case prevents access to the microSD card slot, power cable, and coaxial rear camera connection, ensuring your footage remains intact and unaltered. The case also restricts camera rotation, preventing drivers or passengers from redirecting the lens away from the road.

This model is designed for vehicles with windshield angles between 20° and 60° from horizontal, making it ideal for sedans, SUVs, coupes, and most passenger vehicles. Fleet managers and rideshare operators rely on the BTC-1C to maintain accountability and protect critical evidence.

Compatible with: DR750X, DR750X Plus, DR770X, DR900X, DR900X Plus, and DR970X series (excludes LTE, Box, and older S-series models).

 

TP-E: Elite Series Tamper-Proof Solution

 
The TP-E tamper-proof case provides robust protection for BlackVue's newest Elite series dash cams, including the Elite 8, Elite 9, and Elite 10 models. Like the BTC-1C, the TP-E secures over the front camera housing and locks with allen-head screws, blocking access to the SD card, cables, and camera articulation. This ensures that recorded footage, GPS data, and Cloud uploads cannot be interrupted or deleted during incidents. The TP-E is purpose-built for Elite series dash cams' sleek design, offering tamper resistance without adding bulk or compromising the discreet, wedge-style profile.

Will the tamper-proof case fit if my windshield is very upright?
 
The BTC-1C is designed for windshield angles between 20° and 60° from horizontal. Vehicles with very upright windshields (buses, some commercial vans) may not achieve the correct camera angle with this case installed. The TP-E is optimised for Elite series' compact wedge design but still requires proper windshield angle clearance.

Which tamper-proof case model do I need for my dash cam?

Use the BTC-1C for BlackVue DR750X, DR770X, DR900X, and DR970X series dash cams (excludes LTE and Box models). Use the TP-E for BlackVue Elite 8, Elite 9, and Elite 10 series dash cams.

Can I still access my dash cam's Wi-Fi and app features with the case installed?
 
Yes. The tamper-proof case does not block wireless signals. You can still connect to your dash cam via the BlackVue app for live view, footage download, and settings adjustments.

Does the case prevent the camera from being removed from the windshield mount?

No. The tamper-proof case locks the camera body and restricts access to the SD card and cables, but it does not prevent removal of the entire mount from the windshield. For additional security, consider using a high-quality adhesive mount or installing the camera in a less accessible location.

Is the tamper-proof case compatible with BlackVue LTE or Box series models?

No. The BTC-1C is not compatible with DR770X Box, DR970X Box Plus, DR970X LTE, DR970X LTE Plus, DR770X LTE, DR750X LTE Plus, or DR750 LTE series. These models use different housing designs and require the BTC-3A case (sold separately for LTE models).

Can I install the tamper-proof case myself, or do I need professional installation?

Installation is straightforward and can be completed by most users. The case fits over the existing front camera housing and secures with two allen-head screws using the included allen wrench. Detailed instructions are provided in the manual.

Will the case affect video quality or camera performance?

No. The tamper-proof case does not obstruct the camera lens or interfere with recording, GPS, or Cloud connectivity. It simply restricts physical access to the dash cam's ports and controls.
