Thinkware CONNECTED LTE Module

Connect your Thinkware dash cam to the CONNECTED app for remote checks, location information and supported event alerts. The LTE Module includes a USIM with data and Basic service for three years. It supports U3000 Pro and compatible ARC models with the required firmware and accessory settings.

With the Thinkware U3000 Pro 2CH, this module supplies the cellular connection used by Thinkware CONNECTED. It does not require a separate phone hotspot. Remote features need power at the camera and module, mobile coverage and an active service plan; an underground garage or a battery cutoff can interrupt access.

The included service starts with a one-month Premium trial, then Basic for months 2 through 36. Under the current U3000 Pro plan, Basic includes 10 minutes of remote live view per month and two geofence zones. Driving impact alerts do not include video uploads. Premium adds higher limits and video features; check the linked plan table for the features you need. The complimentary period ends after three years. To continue, purchase a plan using the existing SIM. Plans do not renew automatically. Pricing and currency are shown in the app.

Match the camera and update its firmware

Thinkware lists U3000 Pro and ARC 900 compatibility, with ARC 900 firmware 1.01.03 or later required for LTE. Its current help center also provides ARC 800 LTE installation instructions. Use the latest firmware and follow the guide for your exact camera; this is not a universal USB modem for every Thinkware.

On the U3000 Pro, select USB-C → LTE Modem in LINK’s System Settings, then register the device as LTE Type in CONNECTED using its SIM barcode or ICCID. ARC models use their on-camera settings and their own registration steps. The linked instructions explain the indicators and confirmation process for each model. The Pro uses the same accessory port for the U3000 Pro interior camera. The two cannot operate together. Also note that U3000 Pro SD-card recording switches to QHD 2K while using LINK live view, CONNECTED remote live view, or Premium parking impact video with Dual Save.

Choose a shaded mounting position

Use the included 3m cable to place the module in the glove box, or the 0.5m cable near the dash cam. Thinkware recommends the glove box for vehicles frequently parked outdoors and says to keep the module out of direct sunlight.

Insert the supplied USIM correctly, secure the module with its adhesive and route the cable clear of airbags and moving trim. Thinkware adhesive cable clips can help hold a loose cable run. Check registration and remote access before relying on notifications. The United States and Canada are supported service countries. Coverage still depends on the network at the vehicle’s location.

Frequently Asked Questions

What service is included, and what are its limits?

The module includes a USIM with data and three years of Basic CONNECTED service. Use the supplied SIM and activate/register the camera. Premium upgrades and service after the included period cost extra. The current U3000 Pro LTE Basic plan includes 10 minutes per month. Premium has different limits and additional video features. Review the manufacturer plan table and the app before choosing a plan. The included service ends automatically. Purchase a new plan to continue with the existing SIM. Thinkware says plans are fixed term and do not automatically renew.

Which cameras are compatible?

U3000 Pro and ARC 900 are listed by Thinkware, and its help center now documents ARC 800 installation. ARC 900 needs firmware 1.01.03 or later. Follow the latest firmware and model-specific USB-C setup instructions.

Can I use a hotspot or the Pro interior camera?

Thinkware says U3000 Pro CONNECTED services require the LTE Module and do not support a Wi-Fi hotspot or tethered data connection. Local LINK access is a separate function. LTE and the Pro interior camera cannot be used together. Both use the U3000 Pro USB-C accessory port. Choose LTE remote access or the interior camera for that connection.

Does live view change U3000 Pro recording resolution?

Thinkware specifies QHD 2K SD-card recordings during LINK live view, CONNECTED remote live view, or Premium parking impact recording with Dual Save. Do not assume those operations retain normal 4K recording.

What can interrupt remote alerts?

The camera and module need power, working cellular coverage, correct settings and an active plan. Battery cutoff, weak reception and plan limits can prevent or delay access. Confirm the intended parking setup.

Where should I mount the module?

Keep it away from direct sunlight. Thinkware recommends the glove box when the vehicle is often parked outdoors. Use the 3m cable there, or the 0.5m cable near the camera.

Where is service supported?

The United States and Canada appear on Thinkware’s service coverage list. This does not mean every location has a usable cellular signal. Check the supported-country list before travelling elsewhere.
