What is the difference between the DR770X and the DR970X?
The primary difference is resolution. The DR970X records in 4K UHD, while the BlackVue DR770X records in Full HD. However, the DR770X offers a smoother 60FPS framerate on the front camera (compared to 30FPS on the 4K model), which can be better for capturing fast motion.
Do I need the LTE module?
The LTE module is optional. The camera works perfectly as a standard Wi-Fi dash cam without it. However, if you want to use BlackVue Cloud features like Remote Live View and Impact Notifications while you are away from the car, you will need the CM100G LTE Module and a SIM card.
Does this camera record when I am parked?
Yes. The BlackVue DR770X-2CH includes a hardwiring kit in the box. When installed, it enables Parking Mode to monitor your vehicle. It automatically detects impacts and motion, saving footage to the memory card.
Why is 60FPS important?
Standard video is recorded at 30 frames per second. By recording at 60FPS, the BlackVue captures twice as much visual data every second. This reduces motion blur significantly, making details like license plates clearer when vehicles are moving at high speeds.
Can I use a third-party SD card?
BlackVue dash cams are optimized for high-endurance cards. While some third-party cards may work, we strongly recommend using a high-quality memory card (like BlackboxMyCar Guaranteed) to prevent gaps in recording. The unit supports an SD card up to 1TB.
Is it hard to install?

I've purchased from here before so nothing new to add really. I've always been pleased with the service. Live chat is great and any questions were always answered promptly with clear answers. Shipping was immediate. As for the camera, in case anybody wants to know, I like Blackvue cams and have had them for years. I use a dual cam on the motorcycle. It's certainly not built for nor intended to be used in the outdoors but it's performed very well for about three years. Lately, I've noticed some of the segments haven't been recorded and are coming up as a white screen. Sometimes the rear camera fails to record. This isn't a complaint. I figured I'd just replace it and perhaps experiment with this one to see if I can figure out what's up with it. Yes, I know there's a dual cam made for motorcycles and 4x4s but I wasn't convinced I wanted it after reading other reviews. Blackvues have amazing sound and video quality...which is exactly what you want to have when it matters most. Pic shows rear cam under tour pack. Front is behind the windscreen

We have been using Blackvue for several years in all our highway tractors. The ease of use and accessibility is second to none in my opinion as a safety director. Should one of our drivers experience a negative incident in their travels, they are able to access the footage immediately and forward it off to me here in the office no matter where they are travelling. I enjoyed the ease of use so much, I installed a single channel unit in my personal vehicle. I would highly recommend these units to anyone that wants the technology but isn't really to savvy with technology as they are so simple to use but yet maintain amazing features.

This DR770x replaced my 9 years old DR600gw. This new model has built in battery voltage protection. The image quality is good.

Having had a DR600GW previously it was time to upgrade. I like the DR770X: Picture clarity is good, recording is good and the app is great. My only issue is I need to work out is license plates still seem a bit unclear.

App connects quickly and seamlessly, much faster than my old DR650
My 750X died and these are expensive so I was happy when I found a refurb that is compatible with the rear camera (the 770X works with the 750X’s rear camera.). However the end cap popped off and the SD card port is bent so it’s really hard to get the card out. I’ll live with it now that it’s all installed and working.
I've only had the dash cam for a week and it's too early to review the product. It's fine. If it doesn't record a collision in park mode or starts draining the battery despite advertising battery protection it won't be fine. But so far it hasn't. Too early to tell.

This was one of 8 (EIGHT!) emails that I consider to be complete and utter spam that I received during my purchase of 1 product. I don't appreciate the spam. Other businesses manage to conduct day to day without spamming.

Blackvue makes great products and their App is the best out there. The cloud feature is also superior to all other brands. However, when it came to the DR770X, the video quality felt subpar, which is really what matters most on a dashcam. If they had made the resolution 2k, this would have been perfect. I opted to return the DR770X and buy the DR970X which is 4k. I had to buy a $200 module to get cloud/ sim connectivity which is the only draw back.
The product is great, the service was great to. However the wire isn't long enough to get to the back of our truck with no option to extend or even buying an extension it wont cover the back of the truck when the camera is designed for front and back ?
