Overview

Cellink NEO Extended Battery Pack

Note: The Cellink NEO Extended Battery Pack is meant to work as an extension to the Cellink NEO Battery Pack. This will not work as a standalone product.

Please Read Before Purchasing

Please read this important notice regarding compatibility. It is important that you check the firmware version of your Cellink NEO base battery unit before ordering the Cellink NEO Extended Battery Pack. You can check the firmware via the smartphone app when your Cellink NEO is connected via Bluetooth. Please see our screenshots tab for more info.

If your firmware version, seen on the lower right-hand corner of the app, is F146 or older (i.e. a number is "146" or below), you will need to send your Cellink NEO base unit to us for a free firmware update. The return shipping is on us! Please contact us or over the phone at 1 (888) 978 6560 and we will send you a free return shipping label. Please note that both your firmware updated Cellink NEO base battery and your new Cellink Extended Battery Pack will be tested and sent back to you together as one shipment.

If your Cellink NEO’s firmware is above F146, you will not need to send your Cellink NEO base unit to us and can just order the Extended Battery Pack directly.

With dash cams becoming more common, it’s much more apparent that we need a new way to power these cameras. If you leave your car parked for long durations and want even more protection from hit and runs, the Cellink NEO Extended Battery Pack is perfect for you.

Extend Your Battery Pack Protection Further

A fully charged Cellink NEO battery pack can run a single 1-channel dash camera for about 45 hours, while a dual-channel system can be run for about 25 hours with its integrated 76.8Wh. This measurement based on continuous runtime. Having one extended battery pack attached can double these numbers. The Cellink NEO Extended Battery Pack differs from the base system by having a boosted, integrated 84.5 Wh capacity, which explains why adding it on will more than double the overall performance.

What's Included

  • Cellink NEO Extended Battery
  • Charge Transfer Connecting Cable
  • 2x Velcro Strips
  • 12 Months Warranty

Cables Explained

Input Cables for Installation

Cellink Hardwire Kit:
Allows the Cellink NEO Battery Pack to charge at a higher rate of 9 Amps, so it’s able to charge the battery in 45 minutes to full

Cellink 12V Power Cable:
Easier for install, but it charges the dash camera with lower current of 5 Amps, extending the charging time to 1 hour and 20 minutes

Output Cables for Installation

Charge Transfer Connecting Cable:
This cable allows the Cellink NEO Extended Battery Pack to connect to another unit, be it a main battery unit and/or another Extended Battery Pack. This will allow the units to link up and transfer charge to one another.

Female 12V Cigarette Socket Output:
This should be used for BlackVue dash cams and other cameras that switch into parking mode using the G-sensor. These are cameras that switch into parking mode after your vehicle is parked for a few minutes. The BlackSys dash cams can also work with this output method if the 'Use External Power' option is enabled.

Spliced Hardwire Kit Output Harness:
This kit is designed to work with the BlackSys and Thinkware dash cams. The hardwire kit is pre-spliced by one of our technicians so that it will switch into parking mode based on the ignition. Thinkware dash cams will not switch into parking mode if the female cigarette socket is used.

Unspliced 3-Wire Hardwire Kit:
If you already have a three wire (B+, ACC, Ground) hardwire kit, you can splice it into the Cellink Battery B battery pack output yourself. This is a good option for the DIY-ers out there.

FAQ

What is Parking Mode?

Parking mode is offered on most of the dash cams available at BlackboxMyCar. While it is important to protect your vehicle while driving, it is just as important to have your vehicle protected while it is parked. When the dash cam is in parking mode, footage will only be saved when there is an impact and/or motion. Parking mode can be enabled with a hardwiring kit or a battery pack.

For more information on parking mode, click here.

What is a Hardwire Kit?

A hardwiring kit enables parking mode. It allows your dash cam to remain powered on even when the vehicle's ignition is turned off. Installation is a breeze as you will only need to find an accessory fuse, constant fuse, and a grounding point.

What is a Battery Pack?

Most customers purchase the battery pack to avoid using the vehicle’s battery to power their dash cam. The battery pack is charged by either being hardwired into an accessory fuse or by being plugged into one of the vehicle's 12-volt cigarette sockets. We recommend the hardwiring the battery pack as it charges the battery pack quicker.

How much footage will my memory card store?

On average, a 2-channel dash cam writes 16GB/hour and a 1-channel dash cam writes about 8GB/hour.

Do I need a Rear Camera?

Accidents or events don't always happen at the front of the vehicle! Having a rear camera provides coverage for any events or accidents that may happen at the rear of the vehicle.

For more information on rear view cameras, click here.

Do I need a IR Rear Camera?

An IR camera is designed to record the interior of the vehicle in low light conditions. This option is very popular among rideshare drivers.

For more information on why rideshare drivers need dash cams, click here.

What is a CPL filter?

A CPL filter attaches to the dash cam lens to eliminate lens flares, light reflections, and windshield glares.

Extra Power

This is exactly what I needed! With only using my Neo Cellink I was not getting enough run time to leave my dash cams in park mode on all the time, but with the addition of the EXT. I have enough run time plus more. This is a mush get if you have a short distance of charge time and have a multi camera system. I highly recommend investing in this if you already have a battery pack.
