Clear Vibrant Colours with Rich Details
Equipped with a 5MP Sony STARVIS image sensor, the A129 Plus captures the road ahead at 2K QHD. You get sharper, higher quality video with key details in all lighting situations. 140-degree viewing angle offers wide shooting coverage with minimal edge-to-edge distortion, pair it with the Full HD rear camera for a combined 300-degree comprehensive coverage so you don't miss a thing.
The front camera is also capable of recording extra fluid videos at 60 frames per second in a single or dual-camera setup, keeping all details sharp even in fast action. With 60fps, motion blur is much reduced compared to 30fps. That means your VIOFO can better capture details–like license plates–even in fast-moving objects.
BlackboxMyCar-exclusive non-eMMC Version
Please note that this model will be $10 less than other retailers as it's the non-eMMC version (does not come with the 16GB flash storage), exclusively available at BlackboxMyCar.
Dash Camera Upgrade and Compatibility
The A129 Plus Duo front camera is not compatible with the rear camera and connecting cables of previous VIOFO models.
QHD+ 1600p at 30FPS is available in the latest production and firmware release. Update your A129 Plus Duo firmware to unlock all available recording options.
Keeps Watch When You're Away
With motion and impact detection parking mode, the A129 Plus protects your car, recording videos when it detects movement or impact, even when you're not there.
You will need a 3-wire Hardwiring cable or an external battery pack (such as the Cellink NEO Battery Pack) to enable this feature.
VIOFO 3-Wire ACC Hardwiring Kit sold separately.
Buffered Parking Mode not supported on the VIOFO A129 Plus.
Add Speed and Location Data to Your Videos
This A129 Plus comes with the external GPS module. With the GPS, you can record your speed and route data in your video footage files. The GPS will also synchronize the A129 Plus' clock with the GPS time so that your video files can be correctly time-stamped.
Did you know that your footage with speed and location information can be used a defense if you believe you received the ticket in error.
Full Control at Your Fingertips
Say goodbye to taking the memory card in and out of the dash cam every time you want to review a footage clip. The A129 Plus built-in Wi-Fi lets you connect with the VIOFO App to control dash cam settings and access footage clips on the spot. Full control at your fingertips.
Alternatively, you can use the 2.0" HD screen with user-friendly buttons allow for easy setup and playback of videos, or plug the microSD card into your computer and use a desktop viewer to manage your footage.

Quality is good, installation was easy. The cable for rear unit is super long for a sedan (should be more than enough for even minivans or full size suvs), so you would have to find a spot to store the excess (I found one at the rear quarter panel). DON'T FORGET TO ADD "Essential BlackboxMyCar Install Package" like I did and had to waste $ on shipping them separately. Maybe a good idea to add a feature to suggest adding one to the cart before checking out? for some dummies like myself coz I did this twice lol.
Works well with good video quality. I'm adjusting settings to get better night videos. My headlights are bright and makes the license plates unreadable. The settings are somewhat difficult to decipher, but there’s plenty of online resources for that.
Install was straightforward with the hardwire kit. I wish the tape was not pre-installed. You can avoid noticeable air bubbles from the outside by attaching the tape to the window first. Squeeze air out. Then install the camera over it. You will likely have an air bubble on the backside of the camera but it won't be viewable from the outside window. The electrostatic tape installs okay/ It’s like using those old phone screen protectors. Hard to install perfectly without lint adhering to cause air bubbles. The cable management clips use a grey adhesive, so it's noticeable from the outside. The rear cable is quite thick and made it difficult to fish through the rubber grommets. I kinda wish I waited for the new a229 as it uses a thinner wire.
The bluetooth button should have been included, because it’s a pain to reach for the cam while driving to save a specific video.
I wish the camera had an automated way of not using parking mode when I am parked at home in my garage. I don’t need parking mode when I am home, so I have to remember to turn it off. It’s a waste for it to be running and recording video in a pitch black garage.
The camera rattles on the gps mount at certain driving speeds and gets very annoying. When I play the video back, it sounds terrible. The rattle is so bad that it actually triggers the G sensor at the LOWEST setting! I put a very small piece of electrical tape on it. The rattle is no longer audible, but this makes dismounting the camera slightly more difficult. I need to find some thin felt tape to put in there, but Viofo should have added this as part of the design instead of wasting my time to fix it.
The included USB to SD card reader is useless. Throw it away. It's usb 2.0 so it's far too slow to playback or copy multiple files. I highly recommend people to buy a USB 3 to SD adapter that works with all phones and computer operating systems.
I received the unit quickly and installed it easily, but I'm having trouble initiating the parking mode. The instructions need to be more specific. The files take forever to download from the camera and the 256 Gb card. Screen is too small to playback from the camera. Can't play back mp4 files from my laptop, have to use the desktop. Once transferred to the desktop they play well and look good. Price was a bit high when having to buy the memory card.
