For the longest time, Blackvue DR650 series owners had to make the choice between higher quality video and cloud functionality. To use cloud, the camera would have to run at a fixed 6 Mbps front and 2 Mbps rear as opposed to the non-cloud firmwares which offered 8 Mbps front and 3 Mbps rear. The latest V2.005 firmware for the DR650GW-1CH and DR650GW-2CH combines the best of both worlds and allows a choice of bitrate now and is available on Blackvue's website. The V2.005 firmware actually increases the bitrate to 10 Mbps front and 5 Mbps rear so the video quality will be higher than even the non-cloud versions of the DR650GW-2CH firmware.
To configure your recording quality settings, connect to your Blackvue's wifi using the latest Blackvue C app and go to the firmware settings section. Under Video Quality you can increase it to "Highest" for the best video quality, older firmwares were limited to the "High" setting. The downside to the higher bitrate is of course, less recording time on the memory card!
