One of our biggest concerns with bringing the BlackSys CH-100B to the North American market was the direct hardwire power connection, other dash cams we've tested such as the Thinkware H100 and FineVu T9 that use this type of connection weren't able to use parking mode without using this connection. Direct hardwiring in itself wasn't the issue but we found the cord length supplied with the CH-100B was too short and couldn't reach the rear fuse box on our BMW. We asked BlackSys about this and they did not carry a longer cable nor mention an alternative solution, however we did discover in our testing that we could activate the "use external power" setting to still get parking mode out of the CH-100B if we used it with a Cellink B or Power Magic Pro.
We were set out to learn more about the BlackSys WiFi App (available on iOS and Android) and were amazed by the responsiveness and intuitive interface. Check out our video above for our walkthrough on the iOS app which is very similar to the Android one. For changing settings, we believe this is one of the best WiFi apps in the dash cam market!
